Three key adjectives: Mild, Strange, Inquisitive

Influential Events:
Childhood friendship with Madara:
As a very secluded child, Kanata's first and only friend with a young boy his age named Madara. This boy played with him and taught him about the outside world, as he was incredibly sheltered by his family and those who considered him an incarnation of a god. Madara led to his interest in idols and going to Yumenosaki, because he had shown him magazines and media of his own interests, which included music and entertainment. Madara also taught him the difficult feelings to process like loneliness doubt, and betrayal, though not by his own volition. Kanata was hailed as a god who could grant wishes, but he couldn't grant Madara's wish to cure his sister. Madara then wanted to teach Kanata that he was human and out this religion surrounding Kanata as fake. This led to them being separated by their guardians. This was actually pivotal for them both, as it gave them their own sense of purpose at the cost of their friendship. Kanata was told that Madara resented him for being unable to grant his wish, and his general mischievous conduct led to a "good boy" like Kanata disliking his methods. However, he was more open-minded to what the world had for him, instead of just living in a sheltered bubble.

Meeting Chiaki:
Kanata met Chiaki at Yumenosaki Academy, and despite eachothers' antics, they end up drawn to one another. For Kanata, Chiaki was this boy who couldn't come up with a wish for Kanata to grant, but in his idealistic, hero-worshipping ways, wanted to help a strange young man like Kanata understand the world. For that, he was grateful. Kanata could see that Chiaki was easily pushed around and nervous, but sincere and gave him the patience he needed. Chiaki also saw Kanata as a human, not as a god or an "eccentric", which ostracized from the other students save for a other eccentric students who want nothing to do with his troublesome behavior. When these talented, eccentric students were brought down by the school's student council to make a point to the other students and reform the school, Kanata was caught in a scheme that outed him as a fraud, and when he was so caught up in the incident that he nearly drowned in the sea, Chiaki rescued him and made his wish that Kanata would live on as a human. Even if they set up to fail in a larger plot to take down the eccentric students, Kanata saw Chiaki truly as a hero. They then stayed by eachother's side, even even when they were abandoned by their idol unitmates and had to start the group over in their third year. Kanata and Chiaki became very close as friends, who respect eachother's odd habits and even support them in their own way, while still grounding the other with responsibilities like health or idol work. Kanata knows that Chiaki can neglect his own health, so he can make sure to set him straight. He also learns to decide things for himself, like not wanting to ever follow the orders of the student council again.

Ryuseitai's Senior:
The idol unit Ryuseitai is made of two third year students, Chiaki and Kanata, and three brand new first year students. Kanata was thought of as an heir to his household and to many others, a mysterious and unpredictable oddball. Thus he wasn't expected to have real responsibilities like an ordinary person. Ryuseitai struggled to get members after the incident from a year ago, but they manage to recruit three new students in the present year. Unfortunately, it's not exactly the most cohesive unit, as these freshmen are outcasts in their own ways. Midori enrolled into the idol course at Yumenosaki by mistake, Shinobu is painfully shy and is a chuunibyou (he acts and talks like a traditional ninja), and Tetora failed getting into the idol unit he initially wanted to be a part of. They're all in Ryuseitai because Chiaki recruited them, and even then, he sometimes operate on a different wavelength from them, being a tokusatsu hero enthusiast and basing their unit after that rather than a more traditional idol unit. He's loud, affectionate, high energy, and cheerful, which can actually cause his juniors to have difficulty connecting with them. Thankfully, Kanata is there to bridge the gap. He understands Chiaki very well, and Kanata has gotten so good at following along with his antics, he can even help others follow along. To him, his juniors are like precious children and while he's never known responsibility growing up, he grows into the role of a veteran hero that can guide his younger unit mates and provide them support in his own easygoing way. He himself is a talented idol, and despite his odd ways, he takes care of his juniors and they take care of him, creating a mutual relationship that helps Kanata become even more human.

The Aquarium Incident:
Kanata is very poor at expressing his troubles to others, and would rather keep those he cares about away from his problems. That is a pretty traditional mindset that others should not get involved in another's family issues. What happens is an aquarium that he loves is about to be shut down because his family, who owns the property, wished to use it for land development. To protest this, Kanata runs away and tries to protect the aquarium and keep it running. However he failed to tell Ryuseitai and his friends what was happening, leading them to worry because he seems to have gone missing. Chiaki promised Kanata that he would never get involved with his family problems, so he has to ask Madara to talk to Kanata. Along with Madara, another classmate, the flirty and carefree Kaoru, tries to look for him. They give Kanata a reality check in that how he has people to rely on, and while he may be odd and they accept that, he should not reject the idea they would want to help him. Otherwise, he will always be a child and seen as one by others, as he would be immature and selfish for not caring about others. This actually mends his relationship with Madara, realizing he always genuinely saw him as a friend and nothing else. Even if he did things that Kanata didn't approve of, he could see why he did them.

Chosen path: Druid
5 Abilities: ○ [Canon] Knockdown Chop: Kanata strikes a foe on the back of their neck for a human or a weak point, leaving them temporarily stunned.
○ Wild Shape
○ Druidcraft
○ Animal Friendship
○ Shillelagh
Why this path?: Kanata loves sea life! He's the Marine Bio Club president and cares for a lot of fish. By extension, nature in itself is pretty close and he cares a good deal about the environment. In a way, he understands it better than people. Also I just want him to befriend a shark some day.
